The Harleys had to go!. While a staple of  the American motorcycle scene, and, arguably, the salvation of the motorcycling industry in the SUV crazed United States, they are not the two wheel mode of preference for the M4L staff. Our staff was bred on dirt bikes and sport tourers, both styles derived far from the roots of the American rattler know as Harley-Davidson.  Regardless, the 2006 Door Tour became a must following the great feedback we received from our customers during our inaugural 2005 tour.  At home, there seemed to be no arm twisting needed to drag out associates to visit some eastern states.  With the generous sponsorship of Capitol Area Triumph
( www.catriumph.com ) in Highspire, PA, we set off for door delivery points in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland
and West Virginia.   

Repeating their efforts, Monica McCready, Director of Marketing and Alan Rehm, Operations Manager were joined by their associate, Hillary Espich who manages our sister site, www.hurdreplacementparts.com .  Additionally, Todd Wilfong, the founder of M4L joined in, despite being the slowing force (boat anchor) of the adventuresome quartet.  Equipped with multiple GPS devices, two spry Triumph Tigers and a spanking new Triumph Sprint, the group set out under a beautiful August morning sunlight on the 23^rd of August 2006. 

 

Alan spent many evening and weekend hours scheduling our routes.  In no way would he allow the group to traverse door points in a direct fashion, but only the most scenic, road kill filled  causeways and cow paths would suffice for our routes.   While it seemed we could have done the trip in 300 miles, we actually completed our trip after 3 days and 850 miles of mostly two lane tracts of natural beauty.
