Built-in
Ironing Center
Easy Installation Guide
Get
rid of the clutter in your laundry room by installing a recessed mounted
Iron-a-wayา
A-46 built-in ironing center. This product is very easy to install. It
basically requires identifying the desired location, cutting and
removing the drywall, slipping the unit between the studs and attaching
it with the installation screws provided. The unit comes pre-wired so
it only needs to be pigtailed to an incoming electrical wire. All
electrical work must be done in accordance with all applicable
electrical codes. The A-46 model utilizes 15 AMP. Other models are
available without the electrical component relying on an existing power
outlet.
Time tested for over
40 years, these built-in ironing centers are practical, safe and
functional the perfect addition to your home and your lifestyle. With
its rugged, premium length 46-inch ironing board and telescoping steel
support legs, the A-46 model built-in ironing center is engineered and
built to last. The easy, 4 height adjustment lets you choose the most
comfortable work position. A solid state, silent timer turns on power
to the built-in work light and the electrical outlet. You can leave
your iron plugged in at all times, even when the door is closed. A
built-in safety switch disconnects all power when the board is in the
upright position. This solid-state, silent timer offers safety and
convenience. Just set the dial to the desired time, up to 50 minutes.
A pilot light indicates that the power is on and shuts off
automatically. The unit features a hot iron storage compartment,
accessory shelf, sleeve board, pilot light and garment hook located on
the back the standard birch veneer door. You may order it without a
door allowing you to match custom cabinetry or select from raised panel
Oak, Pine, or Maple door options. Doors are attached to the unit using
a recessed, full-length piano hinge to provide years of reliable
operation. The hot iron storage area is designed to hold the majority
of all major brands of irons with the exception of very large, specialty
irons designed for the sewing industry.

The unit can be
installed at the height of your choice; but the typical ironing board
height is 34-36 from the floor (see diagram, A). Remember, the user
can adjust the height of the board with a 4 differential between
maximum and minimum height after installation. Next, cut the opening
between the studs taking care that the unit will be mounted at the
ironing board height desired. The model A-46 requires a 14 ผ x 59 7/8
x 3 7/8 opening size in the wall. The unit, although recessed, extends
into the room approximately 3. The door which measures 15W x 60 5/8
L, opens approximately 180ฐ,
so allow at least 16 to the side of cabinet for door to swing open (see
diagram, B). With the opening cut into the drywall, you are ready to
attach the 2x 4 cleats to the studs level with the bottom opening (see
diagram, C). Pre-drill the pilot holes through the cabinet frame as
indicated starting approximately 14 from top of cabinet and 24 apart.
Attach cabinet to studs with #12 x 1 ฝ screws through sides of cabinet
(see diagram, D). Next, plumb cabinet and shim to fit (see diagram,
E).
