No door we produce has been more popular since the inception of
our company. The original design was drawn in 1996 by a well
known designer out of Atlanta Georgia. He was commissioned to
design a fully themed home system where by cabinets, columns,
trim and doors were all meshed in a family of simple arts and
crafts motif. The designs included lots of chamfered edges that
stop and started at precise points. Obviously, the designer had
been a long study of famous Frank Lloyd Wright. Sitting in many
sessions with the designer, we built several prototypes of this
door style and other elements he wanted to complete his family
of product. The door has been copied several times, but never
correctly. Phirst and Lassing builds the door today to the same
cuts and profiles of the original doors. No doors we make, of
similar size, take more time to build and refine than our
classic Third Lite and Half Lite Phirst and Lassing doors.
